Design is personal.
So is our process.
Bannie Interior Designs is an emerging Nairobi studio creating residential, hospitality and commercial interiors with close creative involvement from brief to final detail.
An emerging studio
with serious intent.
The goal is not to imitate a recognisable luxury look. It is to understand what a space needs to do, how the client wants to feel in it, and then build a clear design language around that.
Barney’s practice is still growing, which is why this portfolio distinguishes clearly between commissioned completed work and concept studies. The concepts are not presented as past clients; they show the level of thinking, range and direction the studio is capable of bringing to future work.

Close to the brief.
Close to the work.
For an emerging practice, direct involvement is not a compromise — it is part of the proposition.
Clients deal directly with the designer rather than being handed through multiple layers. That means fewer assumptions, faster design conversations and greater accountability for the final visual direction.
Four principles,
one standard.
The studio’s aesthetic can change from project to project. The discipline behind it should not.
Design for the real life around it.
Who uses the space, when, how often, with what routines and constraints?
Every element should earn its place.
Not every surface needs a gesture. Quiet areas make important moments stronger.
Texture is part of the experience.
Stone, wood, metal, textile and light are selected for how they work together over time.
Quality is usually felt before it is named.
Alignment, junctions, proportions and lighting make a room feel resolved.
Built work and
design exploration.
Completed projects will always be labelled as completed. Concept studies will always be labelled as concepts.
That distinction lets the studio show ambition without pretending experience it has not yet earned. As each real project is completed, it can be published through the studio console and will automatically take priority in the portfolio.

think at a high level.
The question is whether the thinking is right for your space. Start with a conversation and a clear brief.
